At Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington), we offer a welcoming space for wahine to connect, build friendships, and share a love for diving, hunting, and exploring our beautiful Moana. With three fab coastlines right here in Wellington, we’re a united group of wahine passionate about kai moana and everything the ocean offers. Whether you're a local or just visiting, we invite you to join us.

We’re lucky to have access to three coastlines rich with kai moana, but most importantly, we prioritise safety and support each other. Our experienced kaiako team brings expert knowledge of the local shorelines, ensuring we gather sustainably while staying safe in the water.

Learn the art of hunting, gathering, and collecting kai moana with us! Whether you are new to diving or experienced, our group is here to share skills and knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and provide kai for your whānau.
Breathe
You don't need to hold your breath if you've got a tank on ya back. There's more than one way to grab a feed underwater. We offer funded courses taught by qualified scuba instructors, which give you the skills and knowledge to explore and gather underwater safely.

With the support of our Brah, Rob Hewitt from Water Safety, we’re proud to have our wahine completing the Day Skipper course. We're taking our training to the next level on boats, building confidence and skills out on the water.

Thanks to funding, we are able to offer scuba courses—the best way to explore the ocean and a more accessible method for hunting underwater. Dive in and discover a whole new world with us!
